Here's to a good day

The last week has been a bit rough.  I've had a lot going on personally, I'm currently stricken with my summer cold (going on 3 weeks now), and I've had to mix it up with work and chores.  I'm off today.  So far, I've slept in and spent time with the 3 dogs, yes 3.  Our friends stopped by early this morning and dropped off their little black chihuahua mix, a little girl.  Olie is so jealous of her, he growls and snarls, but he leaves her be.  I can tell she is a bit scared, shaking and crying, trying to get away.  Hopefully soon they can become friends.

So, that's it for now.  I don't really have too much to share but felt like dropping a line.  Hopefully soon I will become motivated to update more.  I'm feeling inspired to sew lately, "inspired" not motivated, and maybe I will jump right in and share a few of my new creations.  Until then.

A little buckeye tree in bloom...

Last year, my grandpa found some buckeye nuts from a buckeye tree close to my dads grave.  My grandma had them stored in the refrigerator since then.  Several weeks ago, he planted them in some coffee cans and placed them under a light in the basement.  Here is what we have so far:

I took this picture with my newest lens, my Tamron Macro lens.  I am loving it so far.  I have been wanting a macro since I purchased my camera and I finally invested in one.  I love how it focuses in on the central object and blurs the surrounding background.  I take my second photography class tomorrow at Cord Camera and I'm excited to share this picture with the class... I hope they like it!  :o)



Feeling a bit overwhelmed

There is so much going on right now in our lives and I don't know if I have the energy to deal with all of it.  I find myself continually stressing about all of it... ALL of it, even our vacation.  I need a mental break.  I'm tired of living so dramatically, at least it feels this way... maybe I'm making it that way.  Still trying to settle into this new job, planning this wedding, the honeymoon, and possibley moving and having to sell this crazy house or put it up for rent... aagh, I can't handle it!  I'm ready for some serious stability in my life and it seems like it's going to be a while.  What should I do?  *sigh*

Getting closer...

We are less than 4 months away from the big d-a-y.  Yesterday I went to Golden Delight and ordered our wedding cake.  Yum.  They were not able to do what I had hoped for but I think it will be pretty awesome anyhow.

On another note, also very exciting, I ordered my fancy shoes.  Zappos should be shipping them in due time.  I cannot wait to try them on!

Well I know it's short and sweet but it's about my bedtime.  Until next time...

It's been a while

Yes, I know.  It's been quite a while since I've posted.  I apologize but I've been super busy.  For instance, yesterday I ran all over town to find my invitations.  Also, I just started my new job on Monday.  It went well but needless to say, I am exhausted.

Great news, I finally did received my engagement pictures.  It was a while ago but I'm just now posting.  Here are a few of my favorites:

Save the dates will be going out by the end of this week!  I can't believe the wedding is less than five months away.  The other day I had made a list of everything, what I had left to do and what I've already done.  I couldn't believe how much I still have to do.  I better get the ball rolling.
